TERMS OF USE

Terms of Use

Prompt Cost Calculator is an informational tool designed to help users estimate likely prompt costs. These terms explain the limits of the estimates and the user’s responsibility when relying on the site.

Estimates are directional

The tool provides directional estimates only. Input token counts, output estimates, scenario overhead, coding-agent impact, and cost comparisons are intended to help with planning, not to serve as guaranteed billing outcomes.

Real usage can differ based on provider tokenization, hidden system prompts, conversation history, context size, file or repo reads, retries, tool calls, and other request details that are not fully visible from the pasted prompt alone.

Provider pricing can change

Pricing, model names, subscription limits, coding-agent credits, and provider terms can change at any time. Providers may revise token rates, bundle limits, plan rules, availability, or billing mechanics without notice to this site.

Users should verify costs with official provider documentation before making production, operational, procurement, or financial decisions.

As-is tool and user responsibility

The site is provided on an as-is and as-available basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. That includes, without limitation, implied warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement.

You are responsible for how you use the estimates, comparisons, and guidance shown on the site. Prompt Cost Calculator does not accept responsibility for production billing outcomes, vendor choices, prompt design decisions, or downstream business decisions made from the estimates alone.

Verify before production use

Before using the calculator for live rollout planning, customer pricing, finance forecasting, or production workload decisions, verify the relevant provider documentation and test against your actual prompt patterns.

That is especially important when prompts involve coding agents, large context windows, retrieval workflows, multi-step loops, or subscription-based usage limits that may not map cleanly to a single prompt estimate.
